The Rinpoche was officially recognised by H.E Tai Situ Rinpoche and V.V khenchen Thrangru Rinpoche in the year 2008 as the incarceration of previous Jewoen Rinpoche, the Throne Holder of Lhodrak Nyidey Gonpa, a very renowned Karma Kaju Monastery in Tibet established(small Gonpa) by 5th karmapa Deshin Shekpa during his pilgrimage trip around and later it was renovated by 4th Shamar Rinpoche and handed over to Detsa Rinpoche (uncle of Jewoen Rinpoche).

After passing away of Detsa Rinpoche, the Monastery was under care of 1st Jewoen Choktrul Rinpoche and Gonpa (Lhodrak) became the main Densa (permanent Monastry) of Rinpoche and his unbroken chain of sucessive predecessors who expanded the Gonpa over the period of time, making it, one of the biggest karma kajuy Monastry under great leadership of Rinpoche, in sucessfull upholding of the karma Kaju leanage until the Tibet was invaded by China in 1959 during the reign of Moutsedung. The monastry was completely destroyed during the economy revolution of China towards end of 1950s & late 60s.

The then Rinpoche ‘Previous incarnation’ did not flee like other Rinpoches and passed away in Tibet itself after which he was reincarnated in Bhutan.
